The unimaginative title is fitting to this underwhelming adaptation of Cornell Woolrich’s “Two Men in a Furnished Room” (AKA “He Looked Like Murder”). Director John Reinhardt manages a few interesting things in this ultra-low-budget noir, the first from producer Jack Wrather. Former child star Bonita Granville plays twin sisters — one pure and a tramp (of course) — who get intertwined with roommates Mike (Don Castle) and Johnny (Wally Cassell) who play like the two sides of masculine stereotypes. Reinhardt, Wrather, Castle, and the entire production team would fair better in their second outing this year, High Tide.
