British photojournalist Tim Hetherington and American print journalist Sebastian Junger dispassionately chronicle a year in the life of an American military platoon stationed in a hazardous and isolated area in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley. Stationed in an outpost named "Restrepo" in honor of Juan Sebastián Restrepo, one of the platoon's medics who was killed early in the Battalion's tour, this powerful documentary depicts the day-to-day existence of the young American soldiers as they attempt to push back the Taliban.
