Tom Hank’s attempt at contemporary social commentary in the form of an '80s romantic comedy feels like just that--an attempt. It’s a valiant attempt, but it isn’t very successful because it feels so manufactured. It's a semi-pleasant distraction, but feels woefully out of touch.
