Office star B.J. Novak’s debut feature is one of those intentionally awkward fish-out-of-water comedies about an entitled New York hipster who ventures out of his bubble. Leaning into the cringe, the lame self-depricating behavioral humor should connect on some level, but most every joke fails to hit its oversized mark. Slap an utterly disposable title that will be forgotten even before the Fresh Air interview is over, and I have to wonder, why bother to make something so knowingly forgettable?
