Blending sports film and biopic without hitting the best or worst aspects of both genres, this story of the driven, combative, unconventional father/coach of tennis superstars Venus and Serena Willaims works best as a portrait of an inspirational family. Everyone in the cast is terrific, the melodramatic moments are not too overplayed, and tennis sequences are shot and edited very convincingly. Still, if you're not a tennis fan - it's a lot of tennis.
