Twitter Capsule:
Moving, multi-layered story of an Afghan refugee opening up and sharing the painful secrets he's kept secret for 20 years is told with bland, staccato animation that flattens out and dulls the story's emotional breadth. I know it's on me that I have a hard time being moved by documentaries that rely on animation, but there are so many great docs that tell these important refugee stories where you are really with the people (even when they must remain unrecognizable): Midnight Traveler, Welcome to Chechnya, and Lifeboat to list just three from the previous year.
