Martial arts flix with indestructible characters relentlessly beating each other up over and over, walking away from brutal encounters that would kill any real human a dozen times over, have never been my jam, at least not once the CGI era began, but the latest from action choreographer turned director Kenji Tanigaki more than held my interest with its inventive set pieces and exciting cast. Xie Miao plays a supposed everyman who transforms into an unstoppable force when his daughter is kidnapped by sex traffickers.
